  • Build a good Team

Personal Branding is a long process and can change its course many times in someone’s life. In many ways, your family, friends and colleagues become your team. You want people around you who will support and help you grow and progress. To simply state, these people will help you get what you want out of life.

To build a good team that adds to your growth, you have to be strategic in the choices you make about the people in your life.

  • Measure your progress

Knowing where you stand and then taking the next step is probably the best way to move forward. Measuring your progress by metrics is the best way to grow your business through your personal brand. These metrics are your engagement rate, page visits, subscribers, blog comments, mentions and sales.

Track these metrics and ask yourself, are people interacting with your content? The more buzz you can possibly create, the better.

  • Engage your Audience

Tracking your progress and having a good team fails if these factors cannot engage your audience. Your content is interactive but is it engaging? The Internet is a conversation, not a statement, make that conversation worth the time it lasts.

Additionally, provide great value for the audience. To engage your audience, talk about topics that are rarely talked about.

  • Be consistent

You cannot build a good personal brand by showing up one day and then disappearing for many. Building a personal brand requires consistency and dedication. It will help you build name recognition and avoid confusion among your followers in the long run.

  • Be Unique and Authentic

Authenticity here simply means that you know who you are, what you value and who you’re looking to help. To ensure that you’re showing up authentically, take time to define your goals and purposes.

“Bridging the gap between ‘You’ and ‘Professional You’, makes your personal brand unique” is what a twitter user wrote. If you find a way to do just that, you’ll find a way to make your personal brand unique.

As Jeff Bezos himself famously said “Your personal brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room”. Personal branding isn’t about becoming famous, it is to get something purposeful out of life, both personally and professionally. When done right, it can be a game changer. Create your personal brand and take charge of your career.
