Facebook has officially launched its secondary news feature called Explore. The feed generally features posts from Facebook Pages users don’t follow. The format will be tried in 6 countries including Slovakia, Serbia, and Sri Lanka.

The new update has moved away posts any that do not come from users friends, family as well as other contents like Events, Groups, Moments and Saved items. It will be available on a secondary feed unless they are paid for.

Paid promotions will still appear in news feeds as normal with the ‘Sponsored’ annotation. Facebook feed has become a battlefield wherein marketers will now have to pay thousands to appear in the newsfeed.

This new newsfeed update will impact organic reach of various pages and is expected to receive 4x less engagement compared to before.
